The
Missouri
Meat Goat Producers Association has been formed. It is currently comprised of
farms spread across the southwestern portion of
Missouri
(Southwestern Division), the southeastern portion (Southeastern Division) and
a number of farms comprising the Northern Division. This Association has
been accepted by the Missouri Department of Agriculture as the official
commodity group for meat goats. The total number of goats in the
state is growing quite rapidly and the Association is beginning several
educational projects.
We invite
Missouri
goat producers as well as producers and interested parties from OUTSIDE
Missouri
to join . Dues are payable January of each year for each division
North Division dues of $25/farm/year are payable November each
year for listing in the membership brochure available for the December Livestock
Symposium – and updated periodically. Southwestern Division dues are
$35.00 per farm per year. Southeastern Division dues are
$25.00 per farm per year. Members receive a newsletter each
month on the internet. Anyone not having internet access will receive
copies by mail. Many educational and marketing events are available for
members.
